Clinical improvement of patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis treated with methotrexate at Dr. Soetomo General Hospital, Surabaya, Indonesia

Background: Psoriasis is a complex, chronic disease with increasing global incidence. Studies on the effectiveness of psoriasis therapy in Indonesia are limited. This study aimed to evaluate patient’s clinical improvement moderate-to-severe vulgaris using Area and Severity Index ≥75% score reduction (PASI75).
 Methods: retrospective involving patients diagnosed who visited Dermatology Venereology Outpatient Clinic Dr. Soetomo General Hospital between January 2016 December 2018. The electronic medical record obtained data demographic characteristics, number visits, at initial (PASI) before after treatment, type dose comorbidities. Data were analyzed SPSS version 23 for Windows.
 Results: Overall, 54 included. Almost all subjects adults (≥18 years old) presented severe PASI (PASI > 10) (96.3%). majority (64.8%) successfully achieved PASI75. Most received methotrexate (72.2%); most frequent dosage was 15 mg/week (61.5%). A significant association found treatment larger scores (p=0.001).
 Conclusion: terms PASI75 satisfactory success rate 64.8%, significantly better methotrexate. Further studies needed explore its factors.
